Take a moment to pause, breathe, and let the truth settle. Not everything needs to be fixed. Sometimes it just needs to be seen.

These reflections come from this week’s blog, True Peace, where I shared how it took me over twenty years to understand what peace in Christ means. If you’re tired of striving for peace, this might be the right moment to slow down and listen.

Let’s start with 3 Reflections.

Peace doesn’t grow from pretending everything is fine. For years, I faked peace, and it left me burned out and bitter. It wasn’t until I stopped performing and started surrendering that something began to change.

Watching other men carry peace made me realise I didn’t have it. It wasn’t in their words. They had a quiet presence that I didn’t understand; they looked steady and settled. I didn’t realise people can’t force that kind of peace. Instead, it flows from abiding in God.

Gideon didn’t feel brave, and he wasn’t confident. He questioned everything. But after God said, Surely I will be with you, he built an altar and called it The Lord is Peace. That moment stayed with me. It reminded me that peace begins with presence, not performance.

These two scriptures have been instrumental in my journey.

Abide in Me, and I in you… apart from me, you can do nothing. John 15:4-5 (NLT)

Surely I will be with you. Judges 6:16 (NKJV)

1 Question to Carry into Your Week

Are you seeking peace in what you can control, or are you finding it through surrender?

Grace to you,

Peter
