Take a moment to breathe and become still. Sometimes God speaks through subtle shifts. At other times, He speaks clearly, and we realise we can no longer ignore Him.
This week’s blog, Obedience to God and Pierced Ears, shares part of my story. It’s about how God gently led me to trust Him more deeply, even in the things I thought were small.
If you’ve felt God nudging you, or if you’ve been carrying something that no longer feels right, this may be a moment to pause and listen.
Here are a few thoughts I’ve been sitting with.
Three Reflections
There are moments when we realise we’ve been holding onto something longer than we should. I didn’t see it at the time, but what I thought was freedom had slowly become unrest. When I finally let go, peace followed quietly and thoroughly.
I have learned that obedience doesn’t always start with the clarity we want. Mostly, it begins with discomfort. A small stirring with a subtle ache that something isn’t right. In the discomfort, I handed over the spanner and allowed God to gently and persistently tune my heart again.
What God asks of us might seem small from the outside. But when it’s a step of surrender, it becomes something holy. I’ve learned that obedience is about letting go of control and trusting God.
Two Scriptures
“My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.”
John 10:27 (NLT)
“Today, when you hear His voice, don’t harden your hearts.”
Hebrews 3:15 (NLT)
One Question to Carry into Your Week
Is there something God has been gently asking you to lay down, not to take from you, but to draw you closer?
You don’t have to answer right away. Just sit with the question. Let it lead you back to God.
Closing:
This journey we are on is about embracing the process no matter what it looks like; it invites us to pause, listen, and follow, even when the steps feel small or slow. God meets us in those moments.
Grace and peace,
Peter
